I had everything all packed to paint outside - sunsreen, hat, snacks, you name it. When I got to my location I realized I'd forgotten something fairly important - my paintbrushes were back in my studio!
I found a palette knife in my bag and decided to just paint with that.
Even though I use a knife a lot in my work, I've never done a whole painting with one. It pretty much forces you to loosen up your style - it ended up being pretty freeing and a lot of fun!
